The Greenbank Progressive Club will hold its monthly potluck dinner and meeting on Thursday, May 9th in the Barn at the Greenbank Farm. Meet and greet will begin at 6:00 PM with dinner at 6:30 PM.  Everyone is invited and asked to bring a dish to share and their own table service. Because there are no kitchen facilities available at the Farm, please bring serving utensils for your food item and plan on taking all dishes and left overs home for cleanup.

This evening’s program will be presented by Jen and Josh Peters, owners of Farmer and the Vine, a wine bar in Bayview, at the site of the old Blooms wine bar.  They serve and sell wine, ciders and small plates, and focus on locally available products. Jen and Josh are members of GPC, but have not attended for awhile as they have been busy getting their business up and running. Come and hear what they have accomplished.

A huge tree fell into the center of the clubhouse in the wind storm of December 2018.  Insurance covers the structural damage but we are reaching out to the community for help.  We need to cover the cost of tree removal and our insurance deductible.  For a much-needed upgrade, we would need a total of $15,000.

We NEED AN UPGRADE to our 70-year-old kitchen.  The kitchen needs to be rebuilt and upgraded to best serve the many groups using the clubhouse.  The upgrade would add new appliances, countertops, a venting system, an island, and additional storage, and restoring the original cabinets.

The Greenbank Progressive Club built the clubhouse to serve the community.  It continues to be a community gathering place since 1949 when it was completed.  The Progressive Club started in September of 1920 and will celebrate its 100th year in 2020.   The Greenbank Garden Club, Coupeville Lions and other groups helped with the cost of construction and building of the original building.  The Greenbank Garden Club continues with care and maintenance of the gardens.

People from all over the island are members of the club and it continues to be used by individuals and multiple groups for meetings and events such as the  Greenbank Garden Club, Island County Master Gardener, water associations, weddings, birthdays, showers, retirement, reunions, craft fairs, art, memorials, dance, and music groups and quilters, and many more.

We serve the community by maintaining the building for the community.

The Greenbank Progressive Club Membership

Our March meeting will be on March 14, 2019 at 6pm, held in the barn at the Greenbank Farm (765 Wonn Rd, Greenbank, WA 98253). Program begins at 6:30pm and will feature Michael Weeks and Emily Harding Hill, the owners of the new Callen's Restaurant at the Keystone ferry landing in Coupeville talking about their business. They remodeled and opened last summer and are already a popular meeting/dining location.  

All residents of Greenbank, Washington, friends, and the general public are warmly invited to attend. Our meetings always include a potluck dinner, please bring a dish to share if you can as well as your own plate, silverware, and cutlery. Questions? Contact greenbankclubhouse@gmail.com.
